DACA!!! Send them home!!

You know I do not support DACA. People who were legally born in this country are having problems getting jobs and going to college and taking advantage of other opportunities coz' too much money is being spent to support these illegal immigrants. They have countries they can return to and if there is problems in their country, then they have a challenge to change the laws of WHERE THEY COME FROM rather than coming here to change the laws here so that they benefit them! They need to go home and work on their laws and systems there, rather than coming here and taking from legitimate Americans! We got our own problems keeping enough work and opportunities for people who were legitimately born here! Foreigners need to go back home and fight the good fight; we got enough problems to keep us quite busy without inviting them in to put more pressure on an already overbrought system! Send them home!

White House talking points that circulated around Washington Tuesday about the end of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program said that current recipients should be prepared to self-deport, according to a Democratic source who obtained the document.
The document, shared with CBS News, says that “The Department of Homeland Security urges DACA recipients to use the time remaining on their work authorizations to prepare for and arrange their departure from the United States — including proactively seeking travel documentation — or apply for other immigration benefits for which they may be eligible.”
Eventually, DACA will be “phased out,” the talking points said, in which all DACA benefits that are provided on a two-year basis will expire. Current DACA recipients have a chance to request a renewal, but some have a small window of time — until Oct. 5 — to apply.
On Tuesday, senior DHS officials said that the administration’s enforcement posture wouldn’t change as a result of the move. They said this means that for deportation, criminals who are undocumented will still be the priority, as well as illegal reentrants and people with outstanding orders of removal.
Officials said there are no plans to change their methodology to prioritize certain people, but they also said that there’s no way of knowing what they’ll be doing in six months, in part because they want to give Congress a chance to pass legislation. Officials said that they will not be issuing formal guidance that will outline how to treat DACA recipients after their benefits expire.
But the administration’s policy, officials confirmed, is that anyone who is in the U.S. illegally should be prepared to no longer remain here.
Hours after the announcement was made, Mr. Trump said on Twitter that he might revisit the issue if Congress doesn’t legalize the program, which Attorney General Jeff Sessions argued was unconstitutional.
As of March of this year, the program has deferred deportations for more than 787,000 people, according to a Department of Homeland Security report released in June. Since Mr. Trump’s inauguration, undocumented students had feared that the president will reverse the DACA program.
Applicants must have continuously lived in the U.S. since June 15, 2007 and come to the U.S. before his or her 16th birthday. Those who have been convicted of a felony, significant misdemeanor or three or more other misdemeanors or who pose a risk to national security or public safety are not eligible for the program.

Dark Store tax loophole; another tax loophole to enrich the already rich! Time for a BOYCOTT!!!!

Now this tax loophole to enrich the already rich who seem to not want to pay their fair share of taxes but want to have a lot of say in government policy on how tax money is spent by the government. They are depriving states of millions of dollars they need to run their states. Now we the consumers have made these companies very rich and we have to pay taxes, but they seem to think they should be exempt from paying taxes, yet they get their money from US buying their products! Maybe we need to familiarize them with a process called consumer BOYCOTT since they are so selfish and greedy as to think they shouldn't ought to pay their fair share of taxes like we do!

A 'dark store' tax loophole enjoyed by Target and Lowe's is costing American schools billions

Retail giants like Target and Lowe's are fighting to pay less taxes.
When they win, schools end up losing billions of dollars, Edweek reported.
In what is often described as a tax loophole, these retailers utilize a legal argument dubbed the "dark store theory" to decrease their annual property taxes. They say that their taxes should be calculated as if their stores were vacant or "dark," rather than when they are at full capacity.
Property taxes for retailers are most commonly assessed looking at the "best and highest use" of the store, so a fully functional store would be taxed higher than a vacant store.
Property taxes finance school district budgets, just as they finance other public services like libraries, parks, and police departments.
The impact of a retailer winning a legal dispute under the dark store theory is significant.
Texas has estimated that within five years, the dark store theory could cost $2.6 billion annually and $1.2 billion in losses for schools, according to Edweek.
And in Michigan, about two-thirds of districts lost at least $75 million, according to Edweek, which said retailers have been winning the argument in courts.
Local governments object to the theory because it decreases revenue to the state while also increasing the burden of increased taxes on other property owners. Schools, roads, and other public services still need funding.
Governments have attempted to pass legislation against using the dark store theory, according to The National Law Review.
With so much on the line for both retailers and local and state governments, the issue isn't going away soon.
Editor's Note: An earlier version of this story included a reference to Home Depot. A spokesperson for the company reached out and said they don't use the strategy.

4 accidents, 2 deadly, raise questions about Navy operations

The commander of U.S. naval operations has ordered a comprehensive review to get to root causes after the collision this week between a Navy destroyer and an oil tanker near Singapore. The crash on Aug. 21, 2017, is the latest "in a series of incidents in the Pacific theater," Adm. John Richardson said in a video statement. BANGKOK (AP) -- One major U.S. Navy collision may be an accident. Twice in two months could be a coincidence. Or it could point to a bigger failing in how the U.S. navigates its warships around the world.
It is unclear how the collision occurred early Monday between the USS John S. McCain and a Liberian-flagged oil tanker in a crowded shipping lane off Singapore, leaving 10 American sailors missing and five injured.
The broken destroyer, now docked in Singapore while investigators look into the cause of the crash, is the fourth Navy vessel involved in an accident this year in the Pacific. No one was hurt in the first two incidents, but seven Navy sailors were killed in June in a collision between the USS Fitzgerald and a container ship off the coast of Japan.
"While each of these four incidents is unique, they cannot be viewed in isolation," said Adm. Scott Swift, commander of the U.S. Pacific Fleet.
Analysts said the two latest accidents are especially sobering, especially at a moment when U.S. warships occasionally patrol the disputed South China Sea to the consternation of Beijing, and President Donald Trump has swapped threats with North Korea's leader, putting nations across Asia on edge.
"It is truly extraordinary, not only that it should happen, and not only that it should happen to the U.S. Navy, but that it should happen repeatedly within weeks in the same geographic area," said John Blaxland, head of the Strategic and Defence Studies Center at the Australian National University in Sydney.
Long-standing protocols for avoiding collisions include having sailors watching the water on all sides, radar systems detecting obstructions and commanders carving clear paths ahead.
The Navy has ordered an "operational pause," which Blaxland said makes sense "to explore what on Earth is happening."
Though the investigation into the McCain collision has only just begun, analysts say there are many possible causes, including crew fatigue, command shortfallings, radar malfunctions, software glitches and even jammed signals that might have prevented the warship from detecting obstacles.
