Myanmar Earthquake 2016: 6.8 Magnitude Quake Felt In Bangladesh, India & Thailand

has been just a few hours since the world was left shocked with the
dreadful Italy earthquake news which killed 38 people and and many more
remain missing. And now, we get to hear about the recent Myanmar
earthquake 2016 that struck with the quake range of 6.8 on the Richter
scale. Reports further claim that strong tremors were felt across India,
Bangladesh and Thailand.

quake had hit hard in a few parts of the region. According to Relief
and Resettlement Department, 4 people died after the earthquake,
including 1 death in Pakokku and 2 other casualties in Yenangyaung.
The Myanmar earthquake 2016 occurred at 4:04 PM at a depth of 58 kms. In India, heavy tremors were felt in the states of West Bengal, Assam and Bihar. People who felt the tremors immediately rushed out of the buildings, fearing collapse. In Kolkata, the metro service was temporarily terminated following the Myanmar earthquake 2016.

Reports claim that the tremors shook the high-raised buildings of Bangkok, the capital of Thailand. People in Bangkok were seen standing on the streets and panicking owing to the dreadful tremors. Elsewhere, 20 people were injured in Savar in Bangladesh.
According to the reports, a town on the Irrawaddy River named Chauk was the epicenter. Chauk is located hundreds of kilometers northwest of the Myanmar ancient capital Yangon. Witnesses claim that stupas, pagodas, temples and other buildings were damaged due to the earthquake.
Sources also claim that the ancient city of Began and the town of Salin too have been damaged. Apart from India, Myanmar and Bangladesh, the tremors were also felt in Laos and China. Reports further claim there were no damages reported outside Myanmar.
In yet another horrific earthquake incident today, a magnitude of 6.2 quake had hit Central Italy, killing at least 38 people, while more than 150 remain missing. The deadly quake struck the nation early this morning around 3:30am and the tremors were also felt by the residents of Rome.
