Tampa Man arrested for various shootings. Do they have the right guy?

Now I saw the story on tv about the arrest of the so-called serial killer in Tampa. Now his manager at the store he worked in calls the cops on him coz' she went into his bag after he told her not to, saw a gun and called the police. Why?!!? Why did they think this one man, out of the thousands of men in florida who are legally armed, coz florida is the state of 'stand your ground' and I can't help but feel that if he had been white, him carrying a gun would not have been a problem. Florida is one of the most racist places I know so that's why I question whether or not they have the right man. I mean, he may have been carrying a gun for 'his own protections'. Remember there's a killer on the loose and he can't afford to move to a safer environment and he's working at Mcdonald's. I still want to know why this bitch called the police. And of  ourse everyone wants to jump on this and claim they got the man with no fuckin' proof whatsoever and showing his picture all in the media! I don't believe this guy is the one and I pray to the Good Lord that He knot allow the white bastards to rail-road an innocent man coz' they need to hang this crime on somebody. Now if he is the guilty party then let him suffer his fate. But if not, make them set him freee, apologize and pay him well. Like I said I don't believe he's the guy so I hope they have legitimate proof.

In the name of God I pray somebody will come help this young man. I got the feeling he's being railroaded! I'd still like to know why the manager of McDonald's looked in his bag. Itr was private property! And why she felt compelled to call the police? It's not illegal to carrry a gun in Florida. And of course when the police come and get him all of a sudden all of the 'evidence' they take lines up for this crime! This smacks of an elaborate snow job of which this manager of McConald's was complicit! Perhaps she knows the REAL killer and was helping to give the police somebody else? Coz' I'd still like to know why she looked in his book bag and out of hundreds, thousands of other people who own guns in Florida decided to call the police on him!  This is some bullshit!!!

Found out why the manager of this McDonald's called the police. There wqs a $150000 dollar reward out for information leading to the capture of the shooter. I still haven't found out why she figured this young man was the shooter. This stinks of some fish! The police should be investigating her coz' she makes me think she knows who the REAL shooter is. There's no way she would have guessed this young man was THE shooter unless she had a crystal ball or some prior knowledge of some sort! And they've already said she will collect this reward? (must be a white woman) so without further investigation they've already made up their minds that this kid is the one?!!? Jessie Jackson where you at? Worried about some damned cars this boy is about to lose his life! Rev. Al Sharpton, I know you scared after them honkies came after you for that Jena Louisiana thing, but dude this is what you signed up for. This boy needs your help!

Arrest of suspected killer puts Tampa neighborhood at ease

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — After enduring almost two months of fear, a Tampa neighborhood breathed a sigh of relief Wednesday after authorities announced the arrest of a suspected serial killer, a recent college graduate who police say gave himself away after asking a co-worker to hold a bag containing a handgun.
Howell Emanuel Donaldson, who was working as crew chief at a McDonald’s, was charged with four counts of first-degree murder in a string of shootings that targeted people near bus stops.
“We had a community that was on edge,” Mayor Bob Buckhorn said. “Today the light shines. The darkness is over. This community begins the healing process.”
Neighbors of the 24-year-old — who lived in a different area of Tampa than where the slayings took place — said they recently saw him playing basketball with his younger brother in the driveway of the family’s suburban home. Now they’re watching news of him on television, puzzled as to how a kid who went to college in New York on a basketball scholarship ended up behind bars.
“He’s very nice. He waves, very polite,” said neighbor Kelly Fabian, who said she walked Donaldson to school when he was younger. “Quiet kid. It’s a shocker.”
Arrest records did not list an attorney for Donaldson, and the police chief said he did not know if the suspect had a lawyer yet. He’s scheduled to make a first court appearance Thursday in Hillsborough County.
The arrest, which happened Tuesday night, brought immense relief to the anxious neighborhood of Seminole Heights, which had stopped many outdoor activities since the first death on Oct. 9. Two more fatal shootings happened in the weeks that followed, and residents were so scared that police escorted children while they trick-or-treated. The fourth killing happened earlier this month.
“I think in this situation it’s a lose-lose no matter how you look at it, except for a magical thing like when a community — organizations, law enforcement — come together unified and can put somebody behind bars,” said Brittany Lott, who said she has not walked her bulldogs in 51 days, choosing to spend time in the backyard instead.
The crack in the case came Tuesday when Donaldson brought a bag holding a loaded Glock .40-caliber handgun to McDonald’s and asked a co-worker to hold it while he went across the street, authorities said.
Restaurant workers thought Donaldson’s request was odd. When he left, they reported the gun to a police officer who was doing paperwork there, setting off an investigation. When he returned to the restaurant, officers were waiting.
In addition to matching shell casings found at the shootings, authorities said location data from Donaldson’s cellphone put him at the scene of at least three of the killings.
“The gun is what we needed,” Police Chief Brian Dugan said at a news conference surrounded by family members of the victims.
Donaldson did not live in the neighborhood where the shootings occurred and told investigators he was unfamiliar with it.
Robert Hoffa, the uncle of victim Monica Hoffa, said he was “overjoyed” when Tampa police called him to say they had made an arrest.
“This is about family. This is about community. This is about everybody sticking together,” he said.
Authorities have not been able to determine why Donaldson chose the Seminole Heights neighborhood. Although he’s been cooperative and friendly to officers, the suspect did not shed any light on his motive or why he targeted individual victims, the police chief said.
Donaldson graduated from St. John’s University in New York in January. He was a walk-on for the men’s basketball team during the 2011-12 season but never played in a game, school spokesman Brian Browne said.
After graduating, he worked in customer support at the Ultimate Medical Academy, a school that trains workers for health care jobs. He started there Feb. 13 and worked for about three months before being fired for absenteeism. The academy said he passed a background check before he was hired.
His LinkedIn account also listed a job as a “guest experience host” for the New York Mets in 2016. The Mets would neither confirm nor deny that he was employed there.
Police in New York said Donaldson was arrested in May 2014, but the arrest was sealed and no details were available. Authorities planned to review cold cases to see if Donaldson could be linked to any crimes there.
Donaldson bought the gun and a 20-round box of bullets from Shooter’s World in Tampa on Oct. 3. He picked it up after the four-day waiting period, and the first killing happened two days after that.
The arrest report said police found clothing inside Donaldson’s car that was similar to what was worn by a person spotted in surveillance video taken the night of the first shooting.
Residents and police had been on edge since Oct. 9, when 22-year-old Benjamin Mitchell was shot to death.
On Oct. 11, 32-year-old Monica Hoffa was slain, followed on Oct. 19 by 20-year-old Anthony Naiboa, who was killed after taking the wrong bus home from his new job. The final victim, 60-year-old Ronald Felton, was killed Nov. 14.
All of the October victims were either getting on or off a city bus, or were at a bus stop when they were shot, police said.

John Crawford's Family Sues Wal Mart and kkkops of Beavercreek Ohio who murdered their son

John Crawford's Family Sues Walmart, Police for Wrongful Death

The family of John Crawford III is suing Walmart and the Beavercreek, Ohio, police department for wrongful death after the 22-year-old father was shot and killed in August.
Crawford was shot by a Beavercreek police officer responding to a 911 call about a man with a gun at Walmart; Crawford was holding a BB gun that he'd found unattended in the store. A grand jury in September declined to indict the officer or his partner for the fatal shooting. The Washington Post reports that Crawford's family is seeking more than $75,000 in damages.
Why is Walmart being sued over Crawford's death?
Pellet Gun Left Unpackaged
Police responded to a 911 call that alleged a man was inside Walmart pointing a gun at others. The caller, Ronald Ritchie, later recanted that part of the story, telling The Guardian that Crawford didn't point the gun at anybody. When officers encountered Crawford, he was carrying what appeared to be a weapon but was in fact a pellet rifle.
Crawford's family claims that because Walmart failed to keep toy guns like the pellet rifle behind glass or in packaging, it is liable for the reasonably foreseeable result of Crawford walking through the store holding the toy gun. The plaintiffs claim that with its cameras, employees, and knowledge of police entering the Walmart, the store breached its duty to Crawford by not securing the toy gun or warning him of the danger.
These breaches of duty are alleged under both negligence and premises liability theories, but they essentially press the same point: Walmart knew of the danger associated with the loose gun and police and failed to act leading to Crawford's death.
Damages for Crawford's Death
As part of the wrongful death suit, the family has allegedly suffered "grief, depression, and severe emotional distress." While emotional distress damages are often hard to nail down, it won't prevent a jury from potentially putting a number to Crawford's family's grief or unrest related to his death.
In addition to the wrongful death action, the family has also alleged damages for the pain, suffering, and anxiety visited on Crawford before his death as part of a survival action. Some states, like Ohio, allow personal injury claims to actually survive the death of the plaintiff, allowing his family to collect his damages.
Allegations Against Beavercreek Police
The suit also names the two officers involved in the shooting, the City of Beavercreek, and Beavercreek's police chief as liable for Crawford's death.
According to the Post, the lawsuit asserts Crawford "was shot before he even had time to react to the officer's presence, much less to comply with any verbal commands." It also says the officers failed to determine whether the 911 caller's information was accurate before opening fire.
In a statement, Beavercreek's city attorney said he believes the officers' actions were justified. If the case proceeds to trial, a jury may get the final word.Joh

Columbus Ohio Celebrating A Murderer

I see on the news that the news is calling some stupid kkkop a 'hero' for shooting an unarmed Black man on the university of ohio campus. White people kill me how they try an twist the facts around to justify their fucked up and criminal actions. Now this well-trained professional couldn't see no other way than to murder a man who wqs armed only with a butcher knife. Now this 'hero' couldn't take this man down without murdering him eh? Some hero. Now had he shot a whiteboi like that they would have fired him immediately. But because it was somebody Black, this kkk motherfucker is a hero! What most Black men are bulletproof and are faster than a speeding bullet? If that's the case then we need to kick your fuckin' asses and take over this country. If we're invincible like that, then we have no use for you whitebbois! This kkk murderer was no hero. And it trips me out that the university campus  is full of yellow bastards that they couldn't take down one man without calling the kkkops. Now all of those so-called men on campus were so frickin yellow hearted that they couldn't handle this by themselves! A bunch of cowards seem to be coming out of that university, I mean, why didn't they call their girlfriends to help them since they were too fuckin' cowardsly to handle the guy themselves. Now murderer kkkop, you did not have to kill that man. He was no real threat to you. You just wanted to committ a murder and since he was Black you pretty much knew that this current system wouldn't hold you accountable for your murderous actions. Well kkk murderer, a new system is coming and you will be held acccountable for your actions. God will see to it that you pay for this senseless murder, along with the rest of you misguided fools calling this murderer a hero! He did nothing heroic and you all mock justice with this insulting display of racist fervor! God is watcfing and will one day pay you back with interest. No Leadership in Washington; trump plays the race card expert!

It's amazing how trump wants to gripe about the players kneeling during the national anthem but hasn't said a fuckin' thing about why they are doing it. He hasn't mumbles a word about white police officers murdering UNARMED CITIZENS OF THIS 'great ' country in cold blood. I guess it's alright with him as long as these kkkops are shooting Black people. Talkin' all that buuuulllllssssshhhhhiiiiiittttttt about disrespect to the  country. Well again I say to him God's Laws trump patriotism everytime (pun intended)! Remember the one about thou shalt not committ murder? This is what the Lord of the Universe says? His Position trumps a mere president of an upstart country that's getting ready to fall anyway! repugnicans always want to throw out patriotism to justify the fucked up things they be wanting to do. What is racism, murder, and racial oppression synonymous to patriotism in their eyes? Must be they keep bringing it up everytime there's a question of them oppressing someone of another race, like the Phillipines, Nepal, NKorea, Japan, Iraq, Afghanistan, Palestine, or any other non-european or  non-white nation.

‘No leadership in NFL!’: Trump tweets about players who knelt during national anthem

Seattle Seahawks players sit or kneel during the national anthem. (Julio Cortez/Associated Press)
After refraining from comment on the NFL and its national anthem demonstrations Sunday on Twitter, President Trump resumed his criticism of players who do not stand for the song and hammering the league’s leaders.
“Two dozen NFL players continue to kneel during the national anthem, showing total disrespect to our Flag & Country. No leadership in NFL!”
On the first Sunday of games after a meeting last week at which owners and players discussed ways to channel their activist message about police brutality and social injustice into action, the Associated Press counted 22 players out of more than 1,600 who protested in some fashion before day games. Individuals variously knelt, locked arms or raised a fist. Three Miami Dolphins and a Tennessee Titans player, with the permission of their coaches, did not take the field for the anthem. In New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium, several members of the Seattle Seahawks remained seated on the bench during the anthem. During warm-ups, the Indianapolis Colts wore black T-shirts that said “We Will” on the front and “Stand for equality, justice, unity, respect, dialogue, opportunity” on the back. They locked arms as they stood for the anthem.

Wa;t Disney was a racist asshole!

Walt Disney
Getty Images

He created Mickey Mouse, so how bad could Walt Disney really be? Plenty bad, as it turns out. He was more Wicked Witch than Snow White.

As Neal Gabler exposed in his biography Walt Disney: The Triumph of the American Imagination (as summarized by Vulture), Walt certainly had his racist side, and not just because he let Song of the South happen. He was reportedly the kind of person to, in meetings, refer to the Seven Dwarves as a "n***** pile," which isn't just terrible, it doesn't make any sense. He also used terms like "pickaninny" in meetings, which was an old-time (and offensive) term for black children. Don't ever use it.

Then there was his issue with women. As Ward Kimball, one of Disney's associates, said, "He didn't trust women or cats." (What's wrong with cats, pray tell?) Then there's a letter Disney sent a woman named Mary Ford, who wanted work as an animator. Was she good? We don't know, but Disney didn't care either way — he rejected her outright, because women simply didn't do that kind of work for him. In the letter's own words, "Women do not do any of the creative work … as that work is performed entirely by young men. For this reason, girls are not considered for the training school." Snow White and the Seven Dwarves appear on the letterhead, almost like they're mocking her for her silly woman chutzpah.

Video Of Suspects In Fatal Restaurant Robbery Released

A woman was shot and killed Sunday in a heist at the Barcelona Wine Bar, say Atlanta police. Video of the suspects has been released.

By Chris Gaudet, Patch Staff | | Updated

(Update) ATLANTA, GA — The Atlanta Police Department released a video Monday evening of suspects wanted in a robbery and homicide early Sunday at the Barcelona Wine Bar. A 29-year-old manager, Chelsea Beller, was shot during the robbery and died soon afterwards at Grady Memorial Hospital.
The robbery and shooting occurred at about 1:45 a.m. Sunday. The police said they're working to identify the three black men shown in the videos. "While they are masked, we are hoping their distinctive clothing (including pants and shoes), will assist in identifying and apprehending them," a police spokesman said.
"No crime against our citizens, anywhere in the city, is acceptable. But the robbery and murder of an innocent restaurant manager doing her job is a terrible crime that has shocked even the most jaded among us here at APD," said Carlos Campos, a police spokesman, in a statement.
The police are working diligently to find the robbers, Campos said. "These crimes are unacceptable, and we will not rest in our pursuit of shutting down these violent criminals."
The robbers broke into the restaurant shortly before closing time and tied up employees with electrical tape, police say. The suspects forced Beller, of Atlanta, to an office upstairs, where they forced her to open a safe and then shot her in the shoulder.
Once officers arrived, Beller was rushed to Grady Memorial Hospital, where she later died. The three robbers got away before police arrived.
In a memorial, Beller's friends left flowers and candles Sunday afternoon outside the Barcelona Wine Bar, WSB TV reported.
The reward for tips from the public about the heist now stands at $7,000. Atlanta police ask anyone with information that will help identify the suspects in the murder at the Barcelona Wine Bar to call them, or provide an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers Atlanta by calling 404-577-TIPS (8477). You can also text information to 274637 or visit crimestoppersatlanta.org. Tipsters can remain anonymous.

Nora O'donnell & gail king, your careers are over

Look at these two women, How stupid they are. Now I'm no big fan of Charlie Rose, but this betrayal, to sit there, talkin with the man, joking with him, pretending to be a friend and then to stab him in the back on national tv, you will find yourselves the most reviled females in America. I mean, white men do it all the time so they should expect it, but they're gonna' come after you two after this bullshit blows over. When this bullshit blows over, and it will blow over, you two will find yourselves out of work and out of sympathy from anyone around. What you did was a big mistake. You won't be the only ones, but trust me, you've just insured your careers end. Now gail, being your girlfriend is oprah, I mean girlfriend as in lover, lesbo twins, it may not hurt you much for now, but your destiny is getting ready to take an unexpected turn. Nora O'donnell, your own people will deal with you and trust you me, you women coming out like this you're in for a big bad surprise. All of us are a little sick of hearing the whining of women about their rights and how they're not treated right. Well just wait; You think you don't get no respect now, you're in for a treat. If dealing with the real world bothers you so much then stay home and make babies! Otherwise gird up your loins and deal with it! Men do without all this incessant whining!

Gayle King and Norah O'Donnell address Charlie Rose sexual misconduct allegations

Last Updated Nov 21, 2017 1:07 PM EST
Update: CBS News has fired "CBS This Morning" co-host Charlie Rose over allegations of sexual misconduct.

"CBS This Morning" co-hosts Gayle King and Norah O'Donnell addressed sexual misconduct allegations against co-host Charlie Rose on Tuesday's broadcast. CBS News has suspended Rose in light of the accusations, and both PBS and Bloomberg have suspended his program.
The Washington Post report published Monday includes claims by eight women who worked for or aspired to work for his PBS program. He stands accused of acts including unwanted sexual advances, groping and exposing himself.
Below are O'Donnell and King's responses.

Norah O'Donnell

"This is a moment that demands a frank and honest assessment about where we stand and more generally the safety of women. Let me be very clear: there is no excuse for this alleged behavior. It is systematic and pervasive and I've been doing a lot of listening and I'm going to continue to do that. This I know is true: women cannot achieve equality in the workplace or in society until there is a reckoning and a taking of responsibility. I am really proud to work at CBS News. There are so many incredible people here, especially on this show -- all of you here. This will be investigated. This has to end. This behavior is wrong. Period," O'Donnell said.

Gayle King

"I really am still reeling. I got an hour and 42 minutes of sleep last night. Both my son and my daughter called me, Oprah called me and said, 'Are you OK?' I am not OK. After reading that article in the Post, it was deeply disturbing, troubling and painful for me to read. That said, I think we have to make this matter to women -- the women that have spoken up, the women who have not spoken up because they're afraid. I'm hoping that now they will take the step to speak out, too. This becomes a moment of truth. You know, I've enjoyed a friendship and a partnership with Charlie for the past five years. I've held him in such high regard and I'm really struggling because how do you -- what do you say when someone that you deeply care about has done something that is so horrible? How do you wrap your brain around that? I'm really grappling with that. That said, Charlie does not get a pass here. He doesn't get a pass from anyone in this room. We are all deeply affected. We are all rocked by this. And I want to echo what Norah said, I really applaud the women that speak up despite the friendship. He doesn't get a pass because I can't stop thinking about the anguish of these women. What happened to their dignity, what happened to their bodies, what happened maybe to even their careers. I can't stop thinking about that and the pain they are going through. I also find that you can hold two ideas in your head at the same time, you can grapple with things. And I'm, to be very honest with you, I'm still trying to process all of this. I'm still trying to sort it out because this is not the man I know, but I'm also clearly on the side of the women who have been very hurt and very damaged by this," King said.
King and O'Donnell both said they hadn't spoken to Rose since the allegations were made. King went on to say that she does intend to speak to him on Tuesday.

Charlie Rose; All this sexual harassment crap just a ploy to crucify Bill Cosby; none of these white men will be tried in court like they're trying to do Cosby; whoever is behind this all this money and expense to oppress one man!

Now all of this bullshit with shedding the light on sexual harasment with Harvey Weinstein, Ben Afleck, Ben Frankel, and the others why are they doing this; because they pulled this same stunt trying to incarcerate Bill Cosby and it didn't work. No one believed those bogus claims against Cosby and they couldn't get a conviction. Now they didn't drop the case, they just set it up so they could drag Cosby into court at a later date and this time get him convicted. Now I never dreamed that they'd dream up such a convoluted plot to convict one man, and this lets you know that the people out to get the Cos'' have some heavy juice. They are working on creating an environment where people who believe in his innocence will be afraid to stand up for him because they're afraid that some of this will rub off on them. Whoever thise people are wield waaaay too much fuckin' influence and power to the degree that they can use it on one man. When the Lord sets up the new king, I can assure you there is nowhere you can run and be safe cos the king has already decided that the world will be a better place for all concerned if you were not here because this is ridiculous. Your gonna' go to such extents and extremes to persecute one man!  Corrupt isn't even the word for it! You're gonna use invaluable resoursces, pull other people in on this scheme just to persecute ONE MAN?!! ARE YOU INSANE?!!  And just watch, none of these white men they've put on front street will be taken to court nor see a day in jail. And most stupid people out there will say when they do what they're plannin to do anyway which is put Cosby in jail,'well somebody needed to pay.' And all these wite women who thought this was their chanc e to get revenge one by one they will be taking them down. Then theat same old bullshit argument 'they wouldn't go through all this trouble for that.' An old whiteboy lie to try and hide the fact that yes they would. The irony behind this is that the accusations against these white boys is true. Those women accusing Cosbv\were lying. Black people continue to support Cosb y and don't  believe a single word that comes out of their white fuckin' mouths. The time has come for war. We pray God will continue to pritect Cosby from these evil men.

I see now how they're trying to throw Bill Cosby in on the sly with these 'guilty' white men who they ARE NOT TRYING TO THROW INTO JAIL!!! You see they wanna lump Bill Cosby in with these white men wha are not gonna have trouble with the law, and basically showing their true hand. We especially African Americans need to notice how they are using all these diversionary tactics and spending all this money getting all of these white men to take a 'fall' TEMPORARILY until they are able to RAILROAD DR. COSBY into a prison sentence!!! That is what all  THIS BULLSHIT is about! They plan on draggin Cosby back into court next year and they want hte public PRIMED AND READY to throw this man in jail! NONE OF THESE WHITE MEN WILL SEE THE INSIDE OF A COURTROOM BUT THEY WANT YOU READY TO THOW MR COSBY INTO JAIL! YES THEY WILL GO THROUGH ALL THIS FOR THIS FUCKED UP WHACK PURPOSE! GOD CURSE THESE SONS AND DAUGHTERS OF satan and let the truth imprison them rather than a innocent man! Cosby don't be deceived by thiese others who are admitting THEIR GUILT! They're trying to fool you so you'll admit to a consentual relationship so they can twist it into something else. Now they're pulling other Blacks into this bullshit but have agreed obviously not to prosecute them.  Now something that happened ten and twenty years ago, this is some bullshit. Whatever reason they had for not coming forward sooner as far as we're concerned NOTHING HAPPENED! You don't wait ten twenty or even two to three years to out of nowhere coming forward. As far as we're concerned, NOTHING HAPPENED!!!

Charlie Rose fired by CBS over sexual harassment allegations

Charlie Rose’s CBS News career came to an unceremonious end Tuesday when the network fired him over allegations of sexual harassment.
Rose’s departure marks the downfall of one of television’s most venerable journalists and a major blow to CBS News, which enjoyed its greatest success ever in the morning thanks to “CBS This Morning,” which was built around Rose and his co-anchors Gayle King and Norah O’Donnell in 2012.
Rose’s serious demeanor and ability to engage a wide range of personalities in politics, the arts and business earned him respect and global recognition. He frequently jetted off to land interviews with world leaders.
“There is not a single person of note on the planet who does not know who he is,” said one CBS News executive who spoke on the condition of anonymity. “His talent was so in the stratosphere.”

CBS had moved quickly on Monday to suspend Rose, 75, after the Washington Post reported Monday that eight women said they were subjected to inappropriate behavior while working with him. The story said Rose made unwanted sexual advances, appeared nude in their presence or groped them. His PBS talk show was also halted and there was no immediate update on the long-term status of the program.
Rose posted a statement on Twitter apologizing for his “inappropriate behavior.”
“I am greatly embarrassed. I have behaved insensitively at times, and I accept responsibility for that, though I do not believe that all of these allegations are accurate,” he said. “I always felt that I pursued shared feelings though I now realize that I was mistaken.”
On the Tuesday morning “CBS This Morning” broadcast, King and Donnell weighed in about their colleague.

“There is no excuse for this alleged behavior,” O’Donnell said. “It is systematic and pervasive, and I've been doing a lot of listening and I'm going to continue to do that. This I know is true: Women cannot achieve equality in the workplace or in society until there is a reckoning and a taking of responsibility.”
King said she was “reeling” from the revelations about Rose and got little sleep before Tuesday’s episode of the show.
“We are all rocked by this,” King said. “And I — I want to echo what Norah said. I really applaud the women that speak up despite the friendship. He doesn't get a pass because I can't stop thinking about the anguish of these women, what happened to their dignity, what happened to their bodies, what happened maybe to even their careers.”
For CBS, a change to the lineup around the glass roundtable at its studioin Manhattan presents a challenge for what has become a profitable bright spot for its news division.
Rose’s presence on “CBS This Morning” signified a commitment to serious news, which has been a major factor in the program’s ratings growth in recent years.
“CBS This Morning” has run in third place behind ABC’s “Good Morning America” and NBC’s “Today.” But since 2012, the CBS program has added viewers while ABC and NBC have seen significant declines.
King, a longtime TV personality best known for her close friendship with Oprah Winfrey, has emerged as a network news star on the program. But Rose was seen as giving the show its creditability as a smarter alternative for morning viewers.
CBS did not name a replacement for Rose on “CBS This Morning.” A number of CBS News personalities are expected to fill his chair until a permanent co-anchor is named.

Papa Johns Apologizes for Their Comments About NFL Kneelers Hurting Sales

When Papa Johns, the NFL’s primary partner in pizza, saw their net worth dropping like a rock, Papa John himself, John Schnatter, blamed the NFL controversy for his falling sales.
Schnatter found his company $70 million lighter, and pointed his finger directly at kneeling players and the NFL’s leadership, specifically Roger Goodell.
“The NFL has hurt us by not resolving the current debacle,” said Schnatter, adding “leadership starts at the top, and this is an example of poor leadership.”
The resulting fallout of Schnatter’s conclusions was a mob of people mocking and rejecting the pizza company. Twitter was abuzz with insults toward the company and promises that their pizza would never be purchased again.
Two weeks later, it would appear that the pizza company has caved under the weight of the mob’s wrath. As Right Scoop pointed out, Papa Johns Twitter issued a series of statements apologizing if their statements on their earnings were viewed as divisive.
Papa Johns stated that while they do encourage the right to protest, they do believe that the anthem should be honored and that there has to be a middle road.
The pizza company said they would work with both sides to try to find common ground, then threw a middle finger emoji toward white supremacist groups for good measure.
The message from Papa Johns is actually something many should be able to get on board with. Middle roads can be reached. It should be noted, however, that Schnatter’s original statement that the NFL and Goodell were hurting pizza sales is still very likely correct.
The NFL’s tanking viewership is definitely happening. Networks that show NFL are noticing subscribers slamming their decision into reverse and backing away as fast as possible. DirecTV had to offer angry customers refunds for their NFL ticket packages. ESPN lost a whopping 480,000 subscribers in October alone due to the controversy.
The bottom line here is that these protests corrode everything they touch, and Schnatter was very likely correct in pointing that out.
